You probably think your friends are pretty great. And you may be right. But in my personal opinion, I have the most incredible and amazing group of friends that anyone could have. Ever. Ok, screw...
They may say “I love you” but if they hurt you over and over maybe...

So apparently my 3 tumbling friends are competing for tumblarity. I guess I have to start posting more often to compete. In the words of Lindahl “I hope you are competitive because we are pretty competitive” regarding our volleyball team last year when I was invited to play on their team. Lindahl, do you think I fit the mold for the team?

We had a great dinner last night at the people’s hall and are now packing up for our 13 hour flight home this afternoon.
This morning I went to the Capital museum and then had lunch in the winter palace. The food is getting progressively better, more like the Chinese food at home, I hope dinner is good too. Then we went to an art school and met with a famous artist/professor that is on tv, like the guy on PBS, it was actually interesting. Next stop the antique market before meeting up with the students for dinner,...
Oh, almost forgot, I might not be wecome back in china again after x-rating our bag in shanghai found a knife in it, meanwhile they keep asking if we have a knife and larry and I keep saying no. Turns out we had a metal wine bottle opener that had about a 2 or 3 inch blade on it to cut the label. We do not remember ever having it but have been known to buy corkscrews occasionally for bottles of...
Ok. So Beijing is what I was expecting to see in China. Shanghai was hot and humid, 2 hour plane rise south of Beijing, much more modern. Bejing is having it’s hottest day of the year so far, over 100 degrees, but a dry heat and actually more tolerable than the humidity. The summer palace was beautiful, and we were just walking in the grounds around the lake. And of corse took another...
Just landed in Beijing, on Air China Flight they had a camera on the front of the plane so we could watch the take off and landing, it was pretty cool. Larry is headed to the US Embassy today, while I head to the summer palace!
Wow I had a busy day, I hope Larry had a good day too, I think they were touring some factories. We got back on time to go on an optional acrobatic show tour tonight but the students aren’t going to make it to go with us, so we are supposed to meet them there. So I am just packing us up for our flight to Beijing tomorrow, we have to have our bags ready at 5am.
So far, great trip, sick of...
On our way to Suzhou, “just a small town, only 4 million people live here” says our guide Roy!
I am ready for breakfast, my favorite meal of the day in Shanghai! Then I am off to the silk factory today.
Random thought at 6am, not having anything to do with being in china… Katie, thanks to your Jewish word of the day last week I saw a mezuzah (sp?) in a movie on the plane over here and knew what it was.
It is so hot and humid here! I went to”water town” today before lunch and had a canal tour, it was nice but the little town shops had markets of food that didn’t smell great and I had no idea what anything was, not exactly appetizing.
